Live in Edinburgh or Glasgow and looking for somewhere quiet with no fireworks to stay with your dog?

On arrival the first thing you’ll notice are the woods on either side of the road making this a very hidden destination. Amongst the 1000 acres, over a third of which is semi-ancient woodland, there are a large variety of tracks and paths to explore.

Need a half hour walk after arrival? We’ve a loop for that. Need a morning or afternoon walk? We’ve a loop around different types of semi-ancient forest where you’ll see Norway spruce (and likely a few red squirrels) and lots of squirrel-munched pine cones. Other parts of the woodland have velvety moss and Downey birch – all with lichen and horse hoof fungus typical of a semi-ancient woodland – “magical” is what our guests say.

Whether it’s Guy Fawke’s Night, Bonfire Night, or New Year’s Eve rest assured you and dog won’t need to stay indoors – sit outside by the firepit and have a peaceful evening and all you’ll be able to hear is the bird song.

And your dog will love the treats from our specialist all things dog provider Kelso & Titch. And you’ll also find a dog bed, poo bags, bowls, towel and a 5m lead so you can relax outside with your dog nearby.
